Camp Information

 

  • N.H.L. players are on ice as professional instructors to provide knowledge and understanding of the game to your child.

 

  • The school emphasizes all areas of the game, specifically the over looked values of hard work, dedication, self esteem, and sportsmanship.

 

  • Instruction takes place in a controlled and safe environment.

 

  • Low instructor / student ratio.

 

  • For ages 6 – 17 years from H.L. – AAA, grouped by age & skill level.

 

  • On-ice instruction will be handled by N.H.L. players and coaching staff.

 

 

  3 Hours of ice time daily covering the following aspects of the game:     

 

  • 1 hour of professional power skating instruction.

proper techniques

acceleration

balance

backwards

forwards

turns

posture

 

  • 1 hour of skill development with N.H.L. players and coaches focusing on:

 

passing

shooting

face-offs

breakouts

stick handling

fore checking

Body checking (age appropriate)

specialized goaltending instruction

defensive zone instruction

 

  • 1 hour of game time daily.

 

 

  Dry-land Training

 

·        Proper stretching to avoid injuries

·        Aerobic / cardiovascular training.

·        Hand eye co-ordination.

·        Plyometrics for skating strength and skating improvements.

·        Off-ice drills for stick handling, passing, face-offs and shooting.

 

 

  Class Time

 

  1. Organizing upcoming on-ice sessions.
  2. In class discussions with N.H.L. stars
  3. Preparing for games and practices
  4. Positional play
